EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE RCMP RPAB RPAT TEST

If you want to be a police officer in Canada, you have to make a very serious decision. You must decide if you want to be a standard police officer and work for the city or you can decide to be part of the esteemed police force in the world, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. You should decide before you start preparing to take your police tests because you will have to complete different tests. To be a part of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police you have to take the RCMP RPAT RPAB Test entrance exam instead of the standard police officer test. But however will you decide which one? We can help!
Who are the RCMP?
The RCMP are made up of brave men and women who come from all different backgrounds and do what they can to make everyone feel safe and secure in their homes and on the street. We use our training and problem-solving skills to resolve issues within the community.
What does the RCMP do?
Wanting to be a police officer of any kind means that you want to ensure public safety and investigate crimes while enforcing the law. As a new recruit in the RCMP, you will spend a lot of time policing at the detachment level which will prepare you for your future within the RCMP. As a police officer in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, you will enforce the law which means that you will apprehend criminals, respond to alarms, disputes and complaints, patrol the streets and enforce traffic laws.
You will also conduct investigations as part of the RCMP. This means that you will be at crime scenes collecting evidence and  interviewing suspects. You will also head up the investigations at traffic accidents and collect notes and write reports. Testifying in court is a huge part of your job as well. If you are investigating a crime, you are the expert on the scene and need to share your findings in court.
You will also be making sure that the people of your community are safe and secure. You will be responding to emergencies and assist victims of and crime while at the same time preventing crime and upholding the relationship between the police and the people of the community.
What does the work involve?
Being a police officer in the RCMP is not an easy job by any means. No matter if you are in uniform or not, policing is something that you need to be able to do 24-hours a day. You also should expect to work on every major holiday, weekends, and on both night and day shifts throughout your career.
You should also be prepared to relocate if the need arises. Openings may not always be in the town that you live in and if you want a job in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, you have to be willing to move to where the jobs are.
It should be obvious to you by now, but being a police officer is a dangerous job. You will be required to wear a gun at all times and expected to use it if the need occurs. You will also be exposed to some of the most traumatic and violent events you could imagine. It takes a certain type of person to be able to handle the stress.
